The Ariana Trio, brainchild of flutist, Jill Sokol, violinist, Karen Spiess Kamp, and French hornist, Jill Van Nostrand, is a professional chamber music ensemble dedicated to music education and character development in young people. The group's first original show, Ariana's Musical Journey, introduces musical concepts such as melody, rhythm, and leitmotif, as well as the families of musical instruments. The show is a fully-produced theatrical production, including musical performance, acting, costumes, scenery, and audience participation, which kids really love.
During Ariana's adventure, she and her friends also learn about kindness, respect, civic duty, responsibility, fairness, and honesty. Ariana's Musical Journey is fun for both the audience and performers, in addition to being creative both musically and visually. What kid wouldn't like to play magical instruments, journey through a forest, meet a fairy, and chomp like an alligator?
Ariana's Musical Journey runs between thirty and fifty minutes, depending on your school's or organization's needs.
A Union County, NJ teacher wrote, "The Ariana Trio gave a performance that skillfully blended music, storytelling, and education. The students were fully engaged by the story, props, and music and really enjoyed the audience participation part of it."
